A session was arranged for the final year students as part of the placement activities for upgrading their knowledge and skills for job placements. The speaker was  Shri Ajay Sood, Director and Associate Financial Planner, ex UTIian from AUM Insure and Secure Pvt Limited, Surat. Shri Sood has a rich experience of 25 years in the Mutual Fund Industry.

Beginning his discussion with the macroeconomic indicators of the economy, he systematically brought the discussion on mutual funds. Sharing some interesting data with the students he pointed out that the highest return giving sector is the equity market, but because of the wrong perception among investors it has got a bad name.

Highlighting the fact that only a small percentage of the Indian population is investing in stock market and  other structured financial instruments, there is a huge scope for building a career in this sector.

He also gave many practical examples from his own life   and asked the students to remain updated on various topics like the daily movement of the sensex, crude and metal prices, and factors which affect the economy.  He urged the students to read financial newspapers and understand the RBI policies and the Union Budget.  The session ended with questions and answers.

Student participation in Solvay India Open House

Venue : Solvay Specialities India Pvt Ltd, Panoli Date     :     13 Dec 2017     As per the invitation from Solvay Specialities Pvt Ltd, 8 students and 2 faculties from Narmada college of Management participated in the “Open House” event organised by Solvay, on 13 th of December. Dr Chetna Makwana (associate professor) and Prof Rashmi Ghamawala (assistant professor) along with 8 students (from different specialisation) visited the company. The event started sharp at 10 am, where students and faculties of different colleges of Bharuch district were present, namely, SVMIT, KJ Polytechnic etc, along with the employees and staff of Solvay. All the participants were welcomed by Pratish Koparkar, who warmly welcome with his delightful words and starting off the briefing about various safety measures that need to be taken care of. Then  we visited first adani port there we were guide how the port work  how the import export is been done. Then we visited to Adani wilmar ltd where they showed us process and packing of different oil product Then we visited adani temple & then we followed by dinner Then cultural event was held which was organized by NCM student  Day 2 We were gathered at 6.30am at common hall for yoga and laughing session Then we went to visit to Adani power ltd were they provided information how the power is been produced and a company visit was been given by them Then by around 1 pm we were departed from Shanti Vihar to
